Over the past 10 years Hornby has grown to become the world's largest hobby company. They acquired Airfix/Humbrol in November 2006 with it’s wide range of products and needed to resume production rapidly, in a cost-effective manner.

Hornby knew that much of the production could be managed overseas but there were still a large number of tools that needed to be assessed in

terms of their usability and shelf life. HBC were selected as the principal UK moulding company because they were able to offer the whole solution, including tooling capability, and a
great deal of expertise.

As a result Hornby were able to get into production faster and with less drain on
their resources.
