HBC were delighted to have been asked to present a paper at this year's PDM conference event on World Class Moulding at the Telford International Centre.  PDM attracted some 3000 visitors this year..

Gordon Nicholson, project manager of NBI (New Business Introduction) presented a feature on the Earlex Spray Gun which has been under his wing now for the past 12 months.  ' I have lived and breathed this product for 12 months' Gordon told us and added 'Its fulfilling for our work to be recognised by an audience as well as the client and the paying public'

The paper highlighted the key design stages using moldflow, procurement and supply detail involved, aspects of the strength of the relationships with the customer and suppliers and also the plastic injection moulding operation down to chosen material and machine partners.

The resulting benefits are mounting as PRW journal are now ready to run a feature case study within their magazine.  The case is unusual as HBC fulfils 90% of the parts in house, and also assembles which makes for an easier supply chain for the client.

Partners on the project included Engel, Intouch monitoring, Moldflow and Plastribution who all contributed technically to assist HBC to fully satisfy the project objectives.
