SELEX Communications, part of Finmeccanica, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of innovative and specialized communications equipment to meet the challenging demands of the Military, the Police and the Emergency Services.The company originated as Davies Industrial Communications in the early 1970’s as the founder came from a rally car racing background and he wanted to develop communication between pit lane and racing car. SELEX are launching a wireless headset they hope will become the new standard in field communication, whether at war, saving lives or policing crowds. It would be the world’s first wireless warfighter without PTT (press to talk). This is in effect a cable free, button free communication device for the toughest battlefield conditions in the world, under fi re and often under attack. The advantage of a wireless headset is to reduce cumbersome cables to the radio, provide stronger performance operationally, to reduce fatigue and above all to improve survivability. HBC are working closely with Selex producing component parts for the warfighter.
