| Signature Industries
supply electronic systems and devices globally with a group turnover of £20
million and rising. The company was established in 1929 and in 1967 Clifford &
Snell (a division of Signature Industries) produced the world’s first ever
electric sounder. They now have over 50 product lines across their business, with
their core business being specialised radio beacons, emergency alarms and warning
equipment for commercial and hazardous environments. The company is synonymous
with design, quality and performance and encourages its suppliers to be of similar
mind. Signature have recently acquired McMurdo Marine, a UK based business who
specialize in the manufacture of rescue beacons for the nautical industry and
this emphasises a significant step forward for the development of the company. The
supply relationship with HBC has clearly moved on a pace over the last two years.
The number of products now in manufacture with HBC, is over 50 tools transferred
to date. The initial tasks such as a change from a polished surface of the YO4
alarm to an etched finish suggested by the HBC technical engineers has now become
a standard across the product range. This reduces scuff marking, eases processability
through the moulding machines and also saves money.
